Keeping a journal

Filed under: Journaling, Writing — sonyca @ 10:39 pm

The fact that I have been keeping a journal for almost 20 years has shaped my development as a writer a great deal. If I had not started keeping a diary, I might never have found how much I enjoy writing. Writing a journal entry every day has also helped improving my writing skills (although I have to admit that I have gone months sometimes without writing anything).

Recently I have discovered a blog on journal writing, and if you want to start journaling or need to restart, there is some good advice on how to go about it over there.

Anyone know

… what the lyrics of Chop Suey mean? A friend just asked me, and I have no idea.

So what are my ideal travel destinations?

Your travel type: Jet Set

A visit to a museum or an art gallery in the morning, an afternoon of shopping, dining out in a good restaurant and some drinks and a little party to end the day, the Jet Set traveller likes a full day.Although he is quite active he is not the type to do any outdoor sports. When he has to walk a few blocks, he takes a cab. The Jet Set traveler is not much of a nature lover. “You mean the green stuff my parents have in their backyard?”

top destinations:

Amsterdam
Las Vegas
New York

stay away from:

Hampi
Cairo
Darien Gap

get your own travel profileNew York, now that’s unexpected … Wouldn’t mind Las Vegas, either, but Amsterdam has never appealed to me. And why would it? It’s only a five-hour drive away (ok, it might be seven or eight, I really have no idea) and it’s a lot less expensive than NYC, so if I wanted to go there in September I wouldn’t have to worry about how I will ever scrape enough money together.

But it’s NYC for me.
