Only one more day

I am listening to The New York Minute Show while I am packing.

When I went to NYC two years ago, I had the master plan, I knew exactly what I was going to do when. This time around, I haven’t really planned that much. I checked a couple of websites, so I know what is going on. There are a couple of shows I want to see, I’m there in time to catch the end of the Tribeca Film Festival, and there are some discoveries from last time that I didn’t have the time to check out. I ‘ll just do whatever I feel like doing, not stick to a plan. I am so looking forward to the trip, I wish it was Thursday already.

Lulu Radio

Just stumbled upon Lulu Radio. Only listened to two episodes, but I think it’s worth listening to.

Sense And Sensibility on LibriVox

I finished listening to Emma and was pleased to discover that Sense and Sensibility is up now as well on LibriVox.

Now I have to sit down and edit a novel, though.

The NaNoMonkeys

Check out The NaNoMonkeys, who will, in addition to writing 50k words this November, make a short podcast every day to keep everyone going.

Yay! I’m looking forward to that.

QotD: On Podcasts

Do you listen to podcasts?  Are there any you’d recommend?

I listen to too many, probably. But there’s one I have to mention since NaNoWriMo is approaching fast: WrimoRadio.

Pride and Prejudice: Free Audiobook

Just discovered LibriVox, a site which aims at making “all public domain books available as free audio books.”

I am looking forward to listening to Pride and Prejudice.

Edit (Sept. 29, 2006):
Since this post keeps generating a lot of traffic (relatively speaking), I’d like to know if any of you downloaded and enjoyed P&P. Because I certainly did, despite the fact that I was a little sceptical at the beginning about the fact that Annie was an American and I thought that Jane Austen had to be read by an English person (or at least someone with an English accent). But as I said, it didn’t bother me at all anymore after about 10 minutes.

Pseudopod: New Fiction Podcast

The first episode of Pseudopod has been posted.

Pseudopod is the sister podcast of Escape Pod, so it should be good. I’ve already listened to the inaugural story, Bag Man by Scott Sigler, and it’s fantastic.

So if you are into horror, go over to the Pseudopod site and subscribe to it. I’m sure you won’t regret it.

Recommended Podcast for Writers: The Kissy Bits

I have told you about my favourite already, but there are more podcasts for writers which deserve your attention.

One of these is The Kissy Bits. It’s about romance writing. If you are not a romance writer, Kiki still offers lots of advice for everyone who needs to write a love scene every once in a while.

My favourite podcast for writers

That would be I Should Be Writing.

If you are an aspiring writer, you want to listen to Mur Lafferty‘s Thoughts on life as a struggling fiction writer. Trust me, if you’re not listening to this one, you are missing out.

(I also listen to Mur’s other podcast, Geek Fu Action Grip. Nothing to do with the craft of writing, but still an entertaining podcast. She has been reading some of her serialized fiction called Heaven over the last couple of shows, and I love that story.)
